This marks my first blog introduction of the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726, a model frequently requested by readers. I’ve delayed reviewing it because no true super clone movement exists for this complex timepiece, nor do I expect one to emerge. Currently, two factories – GR and PP – produce quality replicas of this Patek, with PP’s version commanding a higher price despite not being significantly superior.
The Nautilus 5726 presents a more elegant aesthetic than the popular 5712 model. Its replica movement modifies a Japanese Miyota base with additional plates and decorations, resulting in a slightly thicker case (40.5mm diameter, 11.5mm thickness) than the genuine watch. While some claim it uses a Miyota 9015 base, the functionality exceeds that movement’s capabilities.
The striking blue dial features central timekeeping plus date, month, week, moon phase and 24-hour displays, adjustable via case-mounted buttons. The moon phase replicates the genuine watch’s gradual progression. Though the dial color nearly matches authentic pieces, two notable flaws exist: slightly recessed date font and seconds hand stopping during time adjustment (unlike the genuine movement). PP Factory also offers this replica in grey and white dial variants, with the white version showing particularly accurate coloration.
